How to Avoid Costly Physical Inventory

by User Not Found | May 09, 2018

It is a great time to be alive, right? Technology continuous to advance, making everyday tasks quicker and easier. For example, inventory has advanced from throwing rocks at the bin to see how full it was, to reading its weight. Some used to manage inventory by ascending into the bin to see the levels of material for themselves. Physical inventory consumes many resources including time, money and safety.

The invention of weighing sensors made inventory more simple and safe. This form of “counting” inventory guarantees accuracy, reliability and repeatability. Weighing sensors, such as load stands and Bolt-ons measure inventory according to weight rather than height. Sensors are ideal for applications ranging from sanitary conditions to rugged, outdoor environments.

Bolt- on sensors bolt to the outside of the vessel on its support structure and are non-intrusive. Bolt- on weight sensors are a very accurate and reliable method for inventory. Load stands are direct support load cells used to weigh material in bins, silos, and similar storage vessels. They maintain accuracy and withstand considerable side loads and overloads without damage.

Accurate inventory of bulk materials stored in bins and silos is crucial. The company's time, money and employee safety is even more important. You will not regret upgrading from your current, costly inventory routine to a reliable and accurate total weighing system.
